What is Blogging?

Technically speaking, blog is the abbreviated form of web log. In the most elementary of terms, a blog and blogging is creation of an online journal.

These basic, technical and elementary, definitions of a blog and blogging really no longer due blogs and blogging justice. In this day and age, blogs and blogging have become a major means of communication.

For example, blogs have started to have a major influence on politics in many countries around the world. Indeed, it is not safe to say that blogging efforts and activities have played a role in the outcome of elections and or political debates in any number of countries around the world.

Additionally, the entertainment industry has become captivated by blogs and blogging. Not only are opinions, information and updates available about celebrities through the blogging process, but many public figures are now maintaining their own blogs.

Blogs are resources for information and news. Significant (and not so significant) news stories are developed and analyzed in detail through blogs and blogging. Major news organizations and many, many local news outlets now supplement their coverage and reporting through their own blogging efforts.

Perhaps the last segment to come to the “blogging party” is business. In more recent times, businesses of all types have come to learn the benefits that can be derived for their enterprises through blogging.

This ebook has been prepared to provide you with a definitive overview of how blogging can be instrumental in enhancing the operations, revenue and profits associated with your business enterprise, particularly for your Internet based business operation.

The Best Ways to Earn Money Online - Do You Believe This?

Are there legitimate ways to earn money using the
Internet? Absolutely!

But before you jump in, it's best to understand some
basics about how it all works.

First, there are many con artists online who tout
get-rich-quick ways to earn money. Don't fall prey
to their false promises of instant riches.

You can, in fact, profit significantly and, yes, even
quickly once you learn how to run a profitable
online business. But you must first learn some basics
about ways to earn money online.

Then you need the correct mindset. This is vital to
your success. What is the correct mindset?
Understanding this is a business, not a hobby or
spare time interest.

If you treat your online business as you would any
brick and mortar business offline, you will have a
good chance of success, no matter which business
model you choose.

There are some differences between doing business
online versus doing business in a brick and mortar
establishment. Here are a few:

1. You aren't confined to doing business in your
local area. With the Internet, your potential
customer base spans the globe.

2. Your business hours are 24/7/365 without any
extra payroll or overhead expenses. Your business
can earn money for you outside of regular business
hours.

3. Overhead expenses for an online business can be
as low as the cost of your Internet connection. What
other business can you start for so little?

4. Online, you can create non-traditional businesses
that are completely unique to the Internet. Web 2.0
also known as social networking offers many new
ways to earn money online.

There are some great ways to earn money online
without officially starting a business. Affiliate
marketing is one of the best ways to earn money
online. You can make money with affiliate
marketing without spending any money at all. It
only takes time and an Internet connection.

Affiliate marketing is one of the most common ways
to earn money online. The fact that you can do it for
nothing has great appeal to people, and rightfully so.

Even within affiliate marketing, there are lots of
ways to earn money. You can start out promoting
other peoples' products. There are literally tens of
thousands of ways to earn money by marketing
various products.

One of the best ways to earn money is to have your
own product and set up your own affiliate program
so that others can market your product for you.

Truth is, there are almost unlimited ways to earn
money online. The quickest and best way to get
started is to hitch your wagon to someone who has
a proven track record of success. I highly
recommend Ewen Chia's products. He teaches all
sorts of ways to earn money online with affiliate
marketing.

Definition of a Money Making Web Site

A money making web site is a virtual page hosted on web servers containing a specific group of information that people are looking for and willing to spend money on. Often people will create money making websites in order to generate income from the comfort of their own home. All money making websites have one thing in common, and that is to make money for their owners. The difference between a normal website and a money making website can be told by its appearance. Normally a website will not contain any ads or require any of your information. Money making websites, on the other hand, commonly requires that their visitors purchase a product or service and has advertisements that usually require personal details, such as name and email.

For money making websites, money is generated from product/service sales and advertisement revenues. But it totally depends on how the owner operates his or her money making website. Different products and services require different approaches. Some money making websites promote a product or service directly. Some money making websites collect their visitor’s details and slowly sell their product or service through email. Some money making websites provide information for free but generate money from advertisers.

Overall a money making website should look simple and plain. It should not contain too many fancy animations and/or graphics. It should be informative and easy to read. It shouldn’t have too many advertisements. It shouldn’t promote too many products.

The Top 3 PPC Networks For Your Website

The internet is polluted with thousands of PPC ad networks that hope to replicate the success enjoyed by Google with their incredibly popular AdSense & AdWords programmes. Unfortunately, the majority of them don't have a large enough advertiser base and constantly fail to send payments on time. The networks listed below are the top 3 PPC ad networks (other than AdSense). While not as profitable as AdSense, they are all trusted and respected by the majority of webmasters online.

AdBrite

AdBrite, while not a true PPC network, offers a different and unique concept to advertising online. Webmasters are able to sell ad space on their website and place it in the AdBrite Marketplace, browsed by thousands of advertisers. Obviously, for this to be profitable you'll need a fairly popular website with at least a couple hundred unique visitors a day -- you can, however, use Run-Of-Network (RON) ads to fill this space while you're waiting for advertisers to buy your ad space.

Yahoo! Publisher Network

Yahoo! Publisher Network is still currently in it's beta stages and is only available to webmasters residing in the United States. It is known as the best alternative to AdSense, however there are some known issues with it's contextual ad targeting. Since Yahoo! is a known and reputable company, payments are always sent and on time.

AdEngage

AdEngage is very similar to AdBrite, however they offer much greater flexibility when designing the ad for your website. The advertiser base isn't as large as other network's, so you'll usually find that duplicate ads will appear when using their RON ads. Payments are sent on time and are offered through a range of different options, including PayPal.

Review of the Nice Offers (NOC) Opportunity

NiceOffers.com (NOC) is owned by Carson Services, the parent company of the well known affiliate program, SFI (Strong Future International).

The main purpose of NOC is to provide offers for consumers to save money on products and services both online or offline, anywhere around the world.

This overview of Nice Offers will explain what NOC is about, how it can benefit consumers, affiliates and merchants, what the costs are and what the drawbacks are.

NOC for Consumers

The NiceOffers.com website is a place for consumers to get discount coupons for many things which they would normally buy either locally or on the internet.

The NiceOffers.com site has a search capability to help find offers in lots of different categories including computers, education, flowers and gifts, advertising and marketing, baby products, financial services and more.

You can search the site by state or by country and browse through a selection of offers. Once you have found an offer of interest you can tell a friend about it or enter your name and email address to have the coupon emailed to you .

Next, visit the vendor and use your coupon, or enter the coupon code online if it is an online offer.

Nice Offers for Merchants

NiceOffers.com is also a zero risk way of advertising for merchants both online and offline. You can register your business on NiceOffers.com for free and works on a cost per action basis This means you only have to pay when someone actually uses a coupon at your store, restaurant or online business. There is no risk of paying for advertising that doesn't work

The cost to you is just the cost of the discount for the customer and a fee known as a “bounty” which you set yourself.

Nice Offers for Affiliates

As an affiliate you have lots of ways to make money with Nice Offers whether you have your own website or not. Here are some examples:

* Referring new businesses to Nice Offers – If you refer a new merchant to NOC you will earn recurring commissions on every coupon that is used at that business for life.

* Referring consumers to Nice Offers - You can give away coupons to your friends and family, refer people to the NOC website or advertise NOC offers on your own website or blog. Every time someone uses a coupon you’ll receive a portion of the bounty offered by the merchant.

Anyone can sign up as an affiliate of SFI for free and start promoting Nice Offers straight away. SFI also provides merchant prospecting packs including professional postcards, letters and leaflets to attract new businesses.

The Cost of Nice Offers

NiceOffers.com is free to join for affiliates and is free to use for consumers. It is also free for merchants to list their business and they need only pay a fee when a sale is made.

Disadvantages of Nice Offers

At the moment, although NiceOffers.com is an international opportunity and can be used by affiliates, consumers and merchants worldwide, the majority of the offers on the site at present are US specific.

The marketing material supplied by SFI also tends to be US specific, with 1-800 numbers on their offline promotional material.

How to get started

Just visit NiceOffers.com for all the details.

Making Money Through Blogging - Part 1 - Pay Per Click Networks

You can make money by blogging - believe it or not!

Making money by blogging is a very controversial topic in the blogging community, but the fact remains - several people have made a lot of money blogging (up to $US 1000 per week - which is a LOT of money in some countries).

If you want to start a blog for free (or you don't know anything at all about computers) - go to www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com and start a blog on one of the networks - for free - all you have to do is create a new user, choose the template you want & then you're ready to go - no money down!

Done? Good - Now, you can make money on your blog in several ways :

a) Advertisements on Blogs (Paid per Click) b) Affiliate Marketing (Paid per Sale or Lead) c) Writing a Blog for a Specific Company (Paid per Blog)

I was going to place all of these points together, but when writing point a) it got so large that I decided to split it in 3. So..... in this post I will discuss Advertisements on Blogs.

A) Advertisements on Blogs

This is probably the easiest way to make money blogging because you don't have to do anything - once you've set the ads up (placed them in your template), they are always there. So each time you publish a new blog, people see new adverts. Several companies offer advertising for your website or blog, some of the popular ones are discussed below.

Most people do not make a lot of money from this form of advertising on their blogs. You need to have high traffic websites - that is - blogs that get a lot of people visiting. But.... remember that it is money for nothing - so if you have a website, or a blog - you may as well have some form of advertising that you don't have to touch.

The good thing about this form of advertising is that there is no "waiting period" - so you can start a blog today - and straight away put advertising on it (as long as you have been accepted by the advertising company that is). You can also start getting clicks (and earn money) the day you publish your blog - you don't need to wait for someone to go away, come back, go away again, come back again & then decide to buy the product - this could take a few weeks.

The main companies that offer advertising options are as follows:

Google Adsense (Worldwide) - Adsense is good because it is content driven - so the ads will change to reflect what is written on the blog (for example if you are writing a blog about making money, the ads will be about making money, and if you are writing a blog about confectionery, your ads will be about confectionery). To put it basically, you will be paid depending on how much the advertiser is willing to pay for the keyword - so.... some words are worth 2c and other words are worth $2. The minimum payout is $US100 - this can take a fair bit of time depending on how much money you are making!

Yahoo Publisher Network (U.S. only) - Yahoo is very similar to Google Adsense, but they are currently only accepting publishers from the U.S.

Adbrite (Worldwide) - Adbrite is not content driven - so you may write a blog about money, but get ads about clothing. When publishing Adbrite ads you decide the price. So.... if you decide that each ad is worth 50c, that is how much a publisher will need to pay to advertise on your website.

Chitika (Worldwide) - Chitika offer a different form of advertising to the above advertisers. They have minimalls (where you see a product, & have the option of buying the product), or cloudtags - (a cloud of keywords which are relevant to your blog - you are paid each time someone clicks on one of the relevant keywords). The ads can either be content driven (that is - they will adjust the ads to match your blog like google), or non-contexual (which means that random ads are shown - like adbrite).

Bidvertiser (Worldwide) - Bidvertiser is very similar to Adbrite in that the Ads are not content driven. Bidvertiser will automatically put the highest paying ads on your website or blog (so if one advertiser bids 10c and the other bids 15c, you will have the 15c ad showing on your blog). The minimum payout for Bidvertiser is $US10, so you will be paid much sooner than other advertising networks.

Try one, or try them all - it is good to have alternatives (so sign up for more than one, and then you can change quickly if you need to). Some people prefer google, some people prefer Yahoo. The thing you need to remember is that some ads will work well with your blogs, whilst others won't - take a little bit of time, experiment, and find the "residual income" that earns you the most money - for.... not much work!

Once you have written your blog, don't forget to "ping" the blog networks. Go to www.pingoat.com to do this - this will send your blog to several networks at once - that way you optimise your chance to make money (the more that people see your blog, the more chance you have of making money).

You can also submit your blog to www.netscape.com, www.digg.com, and www.reddit.com - people will review your blog and vote on how good it is - the better it is, the more votes it will get - the more people will read it (swings & roundabouts).

And that.... as they say.... is that!

Enjoy your money making experience - let us know how it turns out, and which network suits you best.

Monetizing your website with AdBrite

If you are looking to monetize on your site and would like to have control over what kind of ads would appear on your website, AdBrite may be the right solutions for you.

The first thing that sets AdBrite apart is the fact that you have an absolute control on what kind of ads will appear on your website. Unless you choose to opt-in and show so called network ads. But if and advertiser wants to purchase a space on your website, you have an option to approve or disapprove the ad. And this is what makes AdBrite ads such a great tool. It opens the door to build a potentially long lasting business relationships with your advertisers. Any good businessman will tell you that return clients are crucial to build a successful business.

You may have heard that in order to make money with advertisement on your website you need at least 1000 daily visitors to your website. This is not necessarily true. Some people make money with lower number of visitors.

Many people think that in order to make money with AdBrite or other advertisements, all that is required is to place few banners or ads on your site and money will begin to roll in. If you have this kind of attitude, most likely you will be disappointed when you discover that after few months you have made no more than $10. As with any advertisement you need to be proactive and look for your your advertisers everywhere you can. Don not expect them to show up and start advertising on your website simply because it exists. If you can contact at least 10 potential advertisers daily, in the very short period of time you may be able to earn good money with AdBrite.

Review of the International Association of Home Business Entrepreneurs

I have been a member of the International Association of Home Business Entrepreneurs (IAHBE) for 3 years now and have found it to be an extremely valuable resource for the latest home business related news, tutorials, tips software and books, as well as a great way to get hold of on a vast array of fantastic books, audio recordings and software for free!

The International Association of Home Business Entrepreneurs was launched back in January 2002 and has thousands of members from all over the world.

I've put together a brief FAQ style review of the IAHBE so you can decide whether or not it is the right online business resource for you and your home business.

What are the benefits of an IAHBE membership?

The general benefit of the IAHBE is the massive wealth of information and resources for your home business. Your membership includes the following:

1) An Intropak worth over $1000
Everyone who joins the IAHBE receives a pack of gifts, valuable discounts and information worth over $1000. At the time of writing this includes:

- A free book "The Home Business Revolution's Greatest Entrepreneurs"

- A free subscription to the Home Business Connection magazine

- A free audio cassette "Underpaid and Overtaxed?"

- Free 30 day trial of Affiliate Mastery

- 15 Free Leads

- Five books by the Fortune Now author and world renowned business speaker and trainer, Tom "Big Al" Schreiter for the price of one

This is a huge password protected vault of articles, audios, seminars, E-Books, software for PCs & Macs, marketing courses and various other tools to help you with your home business. The IAHBE includes both US specific information and international information.

3) Freebies each month

The IAHBE membership also includes physical freebies each month. For example, this month the membership included a book worth $26 "The New Culture of Desire" by Melinda Davis and a year's subscription to the magazine "PC Magazine" worth $131!

Are there any drawbacks?

Although the majority of the resources in the IAHBE membership can be used by anyone regardless of where they live, the free magazine subscriptions are generally only available to those who live in the USA and the free books do have a higher shipping charge for those who are not based in the US. Despite this, there is still lots of useful resources for international members to make their membership worthwhile.

What is the cost?

The cost of the IAHBE membership is US$29.95 per month. If you are a member of SFI this will also qualify you as an Executive Affiliate (EA) for the lifetime of your membership, which will allow you to earn extra commission.

Are there any guarantees?

There is a 30 day money back guarantee. If you don't like what you see you can just cancel your membership within 30 days, no questions asked and you will receive a full refund.

How do I sign up?

Just visit the IAHBE website or become a member of SFI (Strong Future International) and purchase the IAHBE through the affiliate store.

Pay-Per-Click Affiliate Programs

Pay per click affiliate programs are programs which allow you to sell advertising space on your website and get paid when people click through these ads from your website to another website. Google AdSense is the most popular contextual pay per click affiliate program but by no means the only pay per click option. Some other pay per click affiliate programs you may wish to try out are Yahoo's Publisher Network, Bidvertiser, AdBrite, SearchFeed or ClickSor.

Google and Yahoo are the biggest search engines on the Internet and just as Google has AdSense, Yahoo has it’s publisher network. In order to be considered for the Yahoo publisher’s network you need to have a valid US social security or tax ID and your website needs to be predominantly in English and targeted at the USA. If your website fulfills these criteria you can start placing their adverts on your website and earning commission on each valid click sent.

Bidvertiser is another pay per click affiliate program that offers AdSense style adverts for your website. Bidvertiser always shows the highest bidders on your website and has a low payout cost of $10 which is paid either through PayPal or check. You are also able to block any unwanted ads which you do not want to show and generate reports to monitor your performance.

AdBrite allows you to sell AdSense style advertising space on your website at your own rates and with you controlling the approval process. AdBrite then takes care of the other aspects such as billing, serving, scheduling, etc.

SearchFeed is also a pay per click advertising program similar to Google AdSense but where you can choose the keywords you want your adverts to target. You have a number of different advert options including a error page 404 traffic capturer, allowing you to make money off these error messages. Payment is also through PayPal and you have a number of reporting options.

ClickSor is another contextual advertising program like AdSense but which has a number of advertising options including text links, text banners, graphical banners, pop-unders, XML feeds, layer ads and search boxes and offers up to 85% revenue or profit share. Payment is made either through PayPal or a check payment.

Google AdSense, AdBrite, Bidvertiser, ClickSor, SearchFeed, the Yahoo's Publisher Network and many other contextual advertising and pay per click affiliate programs offer a great way for you to monetize your blogs, add an additional revenue source to your website and make some extra money. Each have their own unique benefits and offer you the chance to decide which option will work best for your website.

This article was written by Ran Aroussi of http://www.AffiliatesGarage.com - a free service you can use to display ClickBank & PayDotCom text-ads on your website or blog. Go to http://www.AffiliatesGarage.com to get your "AdSense-style" affiliate ads that are relevant to your content and earn up to 75% commission.

Advertisement Programs for Publishers

There are various advertising programs for website publishers that allow to place ads on your site. These programs then pay you for every click to the ad or per thousand impression. I will list the current popular programs.

Google AdSense - Currently one of the most popular advertising programs on the net. Probably best for when your site starts to get big and generate more traffic.

Pros - Easy to set up, high paying, targeted ads, professional
Cons - $100 minimum payout, a lot of people get banned without warning for cheating, more difficult to cash out, cashes out only through check and bank fund transfer.

BidVertiser - Another very popular program. A alternative to AdSense and is similar to it.

Pros - Pays through Paypal and check, high paying ads, minimum payout $10 with paypal. Very customizable ads.
Cons - Not as many ads and AdSense, sometimes ads are not targeted too well.

Obeus - One of the newer publishers programs.

Pros - Pays through e-gold! Fast payout, minimum payout only $1
Cons - You only earn for ads when advertisers choose your site to be a publisher. Not as popular as other programs and you might not get any advertisers if your site generates is small and generates little traffic.

Hopefully, with the help of these advertising programs, you can start earning revenue from your site. Be careful though, do not cheat by clicking your own links or you will get banned from the programs and that won't be very fun with potential profits lost.

Make Money With Pay Per Click Programs - Alternatives to Adsense

All Pay Per Click programs serve ads on websites. Owners of websites enroll in these programs for showing revenue generating text and images. Of late, Google has also started showing video advertisements on websites. Revenue so generated either by PPC or per thousand impressions is shared between Google and website owners.

Many people are reported to have been told by Google that they can run Adsense ads and some other PPC ads on the same website pages. What Google forbids is showing of contextual ads which copy or mimic Google ads.

Unlike Google Adsense, under many other PPC programs, one has the facility of choosing advertisements. One can choose the highest paying ads.

Many website owners have been experimenting alternatively with Adsense and some other PPC programs like Bidvertiser, Adbrite and Clicksor in order to see the impact on their revenue. Though some have reported good results with Bidvertiser ads, but mostly they have not been better than Adsense.

One major problem relates to out of context ads being shown by Bidvertiser. Thus while a website has some particular subject, Bidvertiser ads relate to something else.

The above is not the case with Adsense. It has a rich repository of ads and it always shows contextual ads on a website.

One attractive feature of Bidvertiser relates to its payout amount which is just $10 as compared to $100 in case of Adsense. The other major benefit of Bidvertiser is the control that one can have over showing of ads on a website.

Essentially Bidvertiser ads look very similar to Google Adsense ads. That is why there is always a doubt lurking in the minds of people whether they can show both types of ads together.

Though Google is reported to have clarified that both types of ads can be shown on the same page, some webmasters do not take any chances. However, it is alright if they are shown separately on different pages of the same website.

Despite Bidvertiser being smaller in comparison to Adsense, it has potential to move forward in future, given some of its unique features.. This can be an effective alternative to Google Adsense, especially if one runs into any trouble with Google. One should keep this and other alternatives in case one cannot use Adsense due to any reason.

Other PPC programs also provide complete control on ads, ability to sell ads directly to users and to customize ads look and feel. Clicksor is all about contextual advertising. Google policy is not to allow any such advertising on the same page, Adsense ads are being shown.

Basically most of the programs other than Google Adsense allow customization of ads to match a site, discretion to approve or reject ads and most important, no objection to work alongside with other programs. However, payout is reported to be not that impressive as in case of Adsense.

Luckily with paid surveys you do not need any of that. You can join paid survey companies for free. Additionally you don't need to learn any special skills. The only thing required is to give your opinion about products.

Why would someone be willing to pay you for your opinion? The answer to that is companies need to know what the general public thinks about their products. One of the best ways for them to get that information is by using paid surveys.

While nobody will ever get rich it is very easy to start to make money online doing surveys. An income of $300 to $500 is very attainable. You will need to sign up with several paid survey companies to start receiving job offers from them.

Like many other jobs the more you give the more you get. If you take the time and complete the questions with answers that show you have given them thought the survey companies will value you more and reward you with job offers that pay more.

Also similar to Affiliate Marketing however here you don't get paid per "sale" but per "action" people will take, i.e. fill-in a form, download a free trial or for getting a sample - can be free or just a for a small shipping and handling fee.

The difference is that Cost Per Action deals are fully online based, Lead generation can be also a 100% online, however the most profitable method is to sell the leads you get through your online marketing to the Offline Companies.

This can be quite lucrative as almost every business has a need for more fresh targeted leads and if you are able to deliver you can make quite an amount of money.

If you have a high trafficked site you can sell "Premium" links on it.
Use brokers, or sell your own - either you contact other owners in your niche or they contact you.

7.) Blogging

Many influential bloggers are making Very good money these days.
So How do you do it? Create a niche blog, update it often, don't be afraid to express your view/opinion, submit it to blog directories, and to other Web 2.0 sites to make your blog visible and known.

Then of course put advertisement on our blog, be it for products you get a commission for, or contextual ads, or text links or any other form of online advertisement.

These days you can also get paid for being a professional blog "reviewer" where other people/companies will pay you for the review of their site, products or services.

8.) Widget creation for Web 2.0 sites

This is a very good, mostly underutilized method of making money. If you are capable of creating a little "widgets" or "gadgets" for those immensely popular Web 2.0 sites like MySpace, Facebook etc. you can make lots of money as the widgets become popular and people will pass them on.

When you create a widget you always embed info about your site or the site you are promoting into it, so as the widget becomes more and more popular, more and more people will be exposed to your message or link.

Usually the widgets are free, but could be also paid if they are highly targeted to the particular site users. Usually just for a small fee which people won't even think about. Or have a free version to get people used to it, then charge for a "Pro" version when they become addicted. ;-)

You can utilize sites like rent-a-coder.com, e-lance.com, proper forums, even Auction or Classified sites for offering your skills.

10) Domaineering = selling sites for profits

The idea goes like this:
You buy an established domain name - usually expired, you develop it and then sell for a profit later on. Kinda like Real-estate selling offline.

There are people who are making millions with this method, which also means that an ordinary person usually does not have a chance to snap a "good" expired domain name, however there is also another option anybody can use.

Basically, buy a catchy domain name in an interesting niche, then simply develop that site over the time as much as you are willing to and Then offer it for sale. Fully developed sites have much Higher value than just plain domain names.
